History

In 1963, F&H Construction was founded in Stockton, California by Clark Fregien and Jerry Harr, two hard-working carpenters looking to make a change in the local construction industry for everyday workers. Over the years their combined skills and motivation to make a difference built a thriving business in California and Hawai’i.

In 2008, Clark Fregien decided it was time to retire. He followed one of F&H Construction’s core values, “Leaving a Legacy”, and when, Charles Ferrell, Stephen Seibly, and Harold Jones acquired the company, he knew that F&H Construction would be in excellent hands.

With Charles’ mind for business and construction knowledge, Stephen’s estimating expertise and industry network, and Harold’s financial background, they have successfully grown and expanded the company into new markets.

Today, F&H Construction is a leading commercial contractor headquartered in Lodi, California. We have a large team of incredibly talented and highly skilled employees both in California and Hawai’i. We are proud builders committed to enhancing how people live, work, learn, and play in our communities.

Leaders become great not because of their power but because of their ability to empower others. John Maxwell

Safety

At F&H Construction, public and personal safety is our top priority. It is our goal to achieve the highest standard of safety throughout all phases of our operations and to ensure that all employees work safely on jobsites free of avoidable hazards. We strive to protect our workforce, and anyone affected by our work, and we will never stray from our ultimate target of Zero Tolerance. We believe that our long-term success is dependent upon the ability to keep our workforce, business partners, suppliers, subcontractors, members of the public and the environment safe. Only by setting the highest standards for ourselves will we be able to retain the trust of our customers and the people using our infrastructure.

We train our employees on this philosophy and on each job site we work toward our goal of an accident-free, injury-free workplace.

F&H Construction’s employees are committed to ensuring an open communication exchange regardless of seniority or title. We exercise this right daily to proactively promote and maintain a culture of awareness, interdependence, and caring. The emphatic approach to safety empowers every employee to be vigilant and to speak up if they observe a safety risk.

Aaron Flores, our Safety Manager, conducts comprehensive safety audits at every site on a weekly basis. In addition, to weekly inspections, he also walks the projects with our insurance carriers every three months. Aaron develops a site specific Injury and Illness Prevention Program that complies with OSHA requirements. This program addresses each potential safety risk so that personnel designated to a project can provide a safe and healthy working environment. We are proud of the usual markers that account for a solid safety program, such as our low Experience Modification Rating (EMR), our Zero Tolerance, Zero Injuries, Zero Accidents, and Zero Citations philosophies.

Safety is the foundation for everything we build.
