F&H’s Featured Employee – Joe George

Joe George was born in Lodi, CA but spent his childhood growing up a few miles away in Burson. After graduating from Calaveras High School in 2003 he moved to Galt, CA where he still resides today with his wife Kayla and their three sons, Clayton (4), Chance (3), and Cutter (1). Joe spends his free time in the team roping arena or on the golf course. His oldest two boys gained a love of competing from their Dad and enjoy participating in junior rodeos and both have won several big dummy roping awards.

Joe has been in the F&H Construction family for quite a long time. His grandfather was a General Superintendent for many years and his father was a Union Labor for his whole life. Joe started working at F&H throughout the summers during high school. Later, he spent some time taking college courses in Animal Science before he decided to join the Carpenters Union in December of 2003. He journeyed out in November of 2007 and quickly became the foreman on the Liberty Ranch High School project in February 2008.

March 2009 is when Joe started his current position as a Project Superintendent at F&H. He takes pride his work and is very passionate about turning nothing into something and making dreams a reality. Joe says, “I think the hardest part about being a construction Superintendent is that you always need to think so far ahead to keep a job running productively. It sometimes seems that years just fly by because my mind is always thinking of what is coming or what needs to be done.” Joe’s goes on to talk about his most rewarding task, saying, “The thing I enjoy most about construction is the final completion of a project. You are ultimately able to see all of the hard work that the team has put into a project, from starting with a piece of paper to when an actual structure is finished.” Joe is able to visually see the progression of a job and that is what keeps him motivated on a daily basis.

Charles Ferrell, President, wrote the following about Joe George:

At F&H Construction we are blessed with hardworking and dedicated employees. I would like to take a moment to introduce one of those talented individuals, Joe George.

Joe George has worked for F&H Construction for the past 14 years and for the last 6 years he has held the title Project Superintendent. His work ethic is second to none and the quality of his construction, whether it is a commercial building, industrial project, or high profile publics work project, is always top notch. He is hardworking, a team player, knowledgeable, organized, and extremely trustworthy.

Joe has worked on complicated and difficult projects, and because of his talents he has been able to complete them in a meticulously professional manner. Working with owners, construction managers, and designers, he has not only established a credible relationship with each one of them, but has bridged the gap to help resolve difficulties. Joe has also at times needed to serve as the owner, construction manager, and designer, always making decisions with F&H Construction’s best interest in mind.

Therefore, on behalf of all of us at F&H Construction I would like to express my appreciation to Joe for the exceptional work that he has done and continues to do for F&H Construction and its clients.
