F&H Construction is looking to hire a full time Senior Estimator

F&H Construction is looking for a talented individual to continue the strategic growth of our company. The Estimating position requires a goal oriented and organized individual that will participate in all aspects of the preconstruction process to provide the highest level of client satisfaction. The position will require interaction with owners, architects and engineers, project document reviews, negotiating, value engineering, soliciting subcontractors/suppliers, etc.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

Preferred candidates should possess a minimum of 10+ years of experience or equivalent experience,

  • Understanding of contracts, documents, drawings and specification is critical,
  • Strong writing, communication and proficiency with computers are essential,
  • Familiarity with building estimating techniques and software: On-Screen Takeoff, Excel, Bluebeam, SmartBidNet, and Timberline,
  • Prior experience with business development activities for pursuits, proposals, submittals and resources for cost and performance is preferred,
  • Preparing complete quantity take-offs, analysis, estimate, and studies for all items incorporated in the assigned self-performed and subcontractor scopes,
  • Clarifying scope of work, materials, and schedule requirements, and documents these clarifications and developing a value analysis by defining alternatives to the proposed scope that are more cost-efficient,
  • Participates in hard bid/estimating and GMP budgeting activities by soliciting subcontractor support and evaluating bids,
  • Builds relationships with subcontractors to obtain a competitive advantage,
  • Keeping current with latest estimating technology and techniques,
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related fields is preferred,

F&H is a 50 year old General Contractor headquartered in Lodi, California that self-perform both concrete and framing. We are involved in negotiated and hard bid jobs as well as Design-Build. Estimating and Perform work as a concrete sub-contractor for structural concrete projects from Parking Structures, Mixed-use projects, and Tilt-ups.
