King Kekaulike High School Performing Arts Center

Lights, Camera, Action! The Scene is set and a 413-seat auditorium at King Kekaulike High School Performance Arts Center is ready to open for the 2018 Spring Musical “Lady Pirates of Captain Bree.” The musical performances will be staged April 20 through 22 and April 27 through 29, 2018.

F&H Construction is proud to be part of this project. In 1992, F&H built the original High School campus and it was awesome to be the builder of this state-of-the-art performing arts center. “It is like watching your child grow up,” says Dan Blackburn, F&H Hawaii Division Manager. The Performance Arts Center will be the crown jewel of the 26-year old campus.

King Kekaulike High School in Pukalani, Hawaii is said to have one of the best performing arts programs with its drama, dance, and music concerts. The 20,490 square feet building will include an orchestra pit with an orchestra lift, backstage scene shop, make-up, storage, changing and green rooms.

It will also provide a theater for the community, where local student actors can spotlight their talent which will serve the community of Upcountry Maui for future generations. This was the goal for State Representative Kyle Yamashita, as no other High School on Maui has a Performance Arts Center that is equipped with state of the art lighting and sound equipment.

F&H would like to thank Jeff Weller, Project Manager and Stacey Helm, Project Engineer who headed this successful and exciting project. Our Maui Staff will be in attendance for the opening performance and we wish the Drama Department Staff and Students all the best of luck or more appropriately to the actors and musicians “Break a leg!”
