Culinary Arts Building, Health Science & Student Services Building

Construction of a new 24,000 square foot institution to service Hawaii Community College Palamanui Campus’ Culinary Arts Program, Nursing, Allied Health Program, and Student Services Administration. The buildings included new educational classrooms, learning kitchens, science laboratories, and related support spaces. 

LEED Platinum Certification:

This project attained a LEED Platinum Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, the highest rating possible in the sustainable program. The campus earned the LEED Platinum design elements in the facility. This included on-site photovoltaics for electricity; efficient use of water, including a “living machine” natural wastewater recycling system; certified sustainable wood; low -emitting paints and adhesives. In 2016 the design won a Renaissance Building & Remodeling Grand Award from the Building Industry Association of Hawaii.
