MCSD - EV Bus Charging Station
The Electric Vehicle (EV) Bus Charging project was completed as part of an energy service contract with the Merced City School District. The district secured funding through PG&E for energy-related improvements to increase energy efficiency and reduce fossil fuel consumption.
The project scope included demolishing the existing bus parking lot, installing underground infrastructure, performing earthwork and grading, as well as completing site electrical work, concrete installation, asphalt paving, and striping. The upgrades provided additional parking for the district’s service vehicles, maintained parking for existing diesel buses, and introduced dedicated stalls for ten new electric buses, each equipped with its own charging station. This project is part of California’s Zero Emissions Vehicle (ZEV) initiative, which encourages public agencies to adopt energy-efficient and alternative energy solutions.
