The race is on at F&H!
The F&H Construction’s running team has completed its 1st race together and it was a wonderful and exciting experience! On Sunday, May 18, 2015 Kaiser Permanente Avenue of the Vines hosted its 9th year at the Woodbridge Winery in Acampo, California. F&H highly encouraged their employees to participate in the 5k race which is 3.2 miles or the 1/2 marathon which is a total of 13.1 miles. Everyone deserves a pat on the back for their effort and the time put into training and waking up early to take part in this event!
The proceeds of the event went to the Emergency Food Bank and Family Service, and according to Fleet Feet Stockton’s owner, Tony Vice, “The Avenue of the Vines has, since its inception in 2007, donated over $154,000.” About 1,000 runners registered to participate in this event and we are delighted to have been part of such an inspiring and energetic running community. The combination of pursuing a healthy life style and connecting with our community while making it a better place is such a wonderful feeling.
To continue on this healthy and fun journey, our next running adventure is the 5k “Run for Water” held in Stockton at the University Park, Saturday, August 1, 2015. This event will benefit the Bear Creek Water Project, specifically to raise money for digging wells in Third World countries. In addition to our monetary contribution, F&H is also collecting empty plastic beverage bottles and aluminum cans to bring on race day. We hope that even more members from the F&H family will participate in the “Run for Water” event. We also highly encourage other companies and families to participate in this event and future events, because it not only benefits the cause, but it also promotes and increases in-office unity and morale.
